Guess what?! It’s that time again.

Take Your Clothes Off and 107Shaw are gearing up for our hottest sale yet! The dates are set for Saturday July 11th and Sunday July 12th. For July we’ll be extending the sale into the 107Shaw garden, which is in full bloom and looking extra magical! For this sale, we are creating a “t-shirt garden” by hanging vintage tees on clotheslines all around the space.

Seth Fluker Opening Party
We got together last Thursday to celebrate the opening of Seth Fluker’s new show “Everyone Needs Standards”. Seth was in attendance all the way from London, UK.

The show will be running until July 9th.

They Shoot Videos, Don’t They?

‘They Shoot Music Videos, Don’t They’ is a bi-monthly music video screening series held at 107Shaw Gallery, curated by Scott Cudmore. Focusing on the directors, the works will be presented on monitors within the gallery with headphones rather than as a formal screening. This way, viewers are free to explore the work on their own terms, much like you would with other work presented in a gallery setting. The point is to present music video as an artistic product and a unique medium of filmmaking.

The first screening in the series will be held on July 9th and will include recent work by:

Summer is almost here, and so are all the amazing summer vintage clothes that are just begging to bust out!

So, to celebrate summer, 107Shaw is holding another giant group sale full of amazing one-of-a-kind vintage. Pieces have been carefully curated by vintage connoisseurs, so it’s ALL great stuff. The sale has expanded to two days and we’ve added tons of new vendors and product. This sale is not to be missed.

‘Everyone Needs Standards’ Show

We’re proud to announce a new show by an amazing artist, Seth Fluker.

Seth Fluker (b.1982) is a Canadian born, London based photographer. In his early twenties, he became interested in photographing his surroundings while skateboarding the streets of Vancouver, British Columbia. Since then, Seth’s work has been exhibited in solo and group shows internationally and was recently included in the Various Photographs catalogue published by TV Books in 2008.

Since 2007, Seth Fluker has lived in three different countries and for the last eight months a neighborhood in East London called Stoke Newington has been his home. While exploring his surroundings with various 35mm film cameras the exhibited photographs at 107Shaw date back to a warm autumn day in Vancouver, a cold damp New York night and a handful of unfathomable
London moments. The overall body of work selected for Everyone Needs Standards exposes a hidden world that is often taken for granted.

The show will be running from June 18th to July 9th. The opening reception in going to be on Thursday June 18th, from 8—11 pm.

Public Address Preview

Dennis and Matt just delivered pieces for the Public Address show.

The prints on top are by Dennis Chow. They are actually a series of four by, but are also being sold separately. The series is called, “the Regulars”. If you don’t know Dennis’ work, please check out his site. Dennis is super talented and about to leave Toronto to go work for MiskaNYC. This is going to be his last gallery show before he leaves. Oh yeah, Dennis also brought down some zines and pins, so we are going to have those at the show as well.

So stoked. This it is going to be amazing! 8 more days!
