A group show inspired by the films of
David Cronenberg

Bio-ports, bugs, exploding heads, deviant sex, mutant gynecological tools, and James Woods growing a vagina on his stomach. Given the endless amount of shocking and memorable imagery that David Cronenberg has captured on film, is there any Canadian artist more deserving of a tribute show? To coincide with the 34th Toronto International Film Festival, 107 Shaw Gallery presents The Video Word Made Flesh: A Tribute to David Cronenberg. Join us as we introduce Toronto to a number of emerging Canadian artists who have produced a series of affordable drawings, prints and paintings inspired by the work of Canada’s best filmmaker. This fusion of different media inspired by film is sure to be a retina scarring experience.

Jason Ainsworth, Tomas Del Baso, Dennis Chow, The Dark, Jesjit Gill, Justin Gradin, Jeremy R. Jansen, Robert Mearns, Mr. Brown, Joshua Reichmann, Meghan Rennie, Ehren Salazar, Seripop, Tyler Quarles and a video by Middleschool w/ score by Parallels

The show has been co-curated by Mikey Apples (Toronto) and Michael Mann (Vancouver).
